Heiligesau is a wool spinner and artist. Self-taugh in spinning, felting and carding fiber, she has built her own sculptural identity by combining textile and sculpture through innovative techniques. Her conceptual focus delves into a historical approach of labour ethics and the liberating possibilities of physical action under late-stage capitalism. After presenting her DNSEP from Ecole des Arts décoratifs at the Gobelins Manufacture in 2022, she is now turning her attention towards vocal and sonic discoveries.

For P9, Heiligesau looked into simple ways to establish a discrete presence in the architecture, light and nature of the residency space. Placing a locally sourced wooden egg around her research locations, she listened to the surroundings and started building a library of sounds, working with the echoes and reverb between analog loudspeakers and digital recording. Seagulls, wind, conversations reverberate into the open strings of the pianos, a sonic egg hunt which will unravel further throughout regular stays at P9 in the next few months.
